Narrative Toward Books Frelseren (Harry Hole #6)

A 14-year old girl is raped at one of the Salvation Army summer camps. Twelve years later, at a Christmas concert in a square in Oslo, a Salvation Army soldier is executed by a man in the crowd. A press photographer has caught a suspect on one of the photos of the concert. Beate Lønn, the identification expert, is confused by how the face can change from one photo to the next. Inspector Harry Hole’s search for the faceless man takes place on the seamy side of the city, among those who seek eternal – or just momentary – redemption. And the gunman has not yet completed his mission.

Write-Up Based On Books Frelseren (Harry Hole #6)
The Redeemer is book six in the Harry Hole series by Jo Nesbo. Christmas is for celebration, and Oslo's Salvation Army Branch organise a concert on the streets of Oslo, and everyone was joining themselves until someone killed one of the singers. Detective Harry Hole caught the case. The readers of The Redeemer will go on a rollercoaster ride with Detective Harry Hole to find the killer. The Redeemer is the first book I have read of Jo Nesbo, and I did enjoy reading it. The translator Don

This is a great step up from a mystery serving just as entertainment. Though some might quibble over whether Nesbo should be shelved with literature, I felt like I was treated to a serious tour of complex social issues. As pointed out so well by Harry Roolaart here on Goodreads, the new genre of Nordic Noir can often tagged as natural realism with its coverage of the failing side of the progressive dream of these counties to become an egalitarian paradise . Here the topics include the problems

Jo Nesbo anticipates and writes an early, Harry Hole version of his brilliant 2014 novel The Son.First published in Norwegian in 2005 as Frelseren, and then translated to English in 2007, The Redeemer blends elements of fundamentalist Christianity with street violence, drug culture and sex crimes. The Salvation Army is structured as a war agent against sin and so this view from the front lines makes sense to some degree, but the discontinuity between the two extremes was at times unsettling. On freezing cold evening when when the Norwegian were busy with there christmas shopping and some people are heading at the concert of the Norwegian Salvation Army a young guy got shoot to death. Not much clue to proceed in the case but when the killer realises that he has killed the wrong

The first pages didn't keep my interest at all. I fel a bit dizzy with all the elements and names and the salt from one point to another. But keeping reading the story, I skatched the characters, understood the plot. It is a story who keeps your brain working. You are all in it. And the narrative thread is well built. I really enjoyed this one!

This series has its moments and this one is the best by far. As always it's weird, disturbing, and goes at a frenetic pace. Nesbo transitions abruptly from one character to the next and it's often not clear who he's writing about. Initially I found it annoying but then began to like it. He also keeps it unclear to the very end-nobody could possibly forsee how this one's going to turn out. You are constantly surprised at what's happening. Inspector Harry Hole is not the most likeable person but

Harry has matured, changed, but he still pulls the rabbit out. The plots are more complex, but they are trackable. Unnecessary suspense is avoided, but pages of useless stuff still get in the way. The philosophy is deep, and the insights ring true. I cant wait to start the next book.
