The book was not very interesting, however it involved many important issues discussed.I didn't like the "non-fiction" Zidan, he writes too little information in too many words that makes reading for him a bit boring. However, the book, is valuable one that should be read (in the skimming mode) ;)
A good read. The book is actually a research that does not give you final answers, but it open your mind to new frontiers.
Once I started reading I could not help but finish it in one day! It was thrilled by the discussion of nature of "enaba" or representation of the divine from an anthropological/ sociological point of view tackling the issue of the sexual bias in all three abrahamic religions when it comes to restricting this representation to men.I wish he elaborated more on this for he only described the discrepancies without reflecting on them.
A very interesting book that sheds light on the different interpretations of Judaism, Christianity & Islam through history through a sociocultural philosophical way and relate all of that to the interrelation of religion, politics & violence.
Very significant book on the core of fundamentalism and violence in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). All religions practiced violence in one way or another. The book has similarity to some of Karen Armstrong ideas in that all Abrahamic religions share much and differ little.
just one star, as i cant pick half star!totally waste of my time
