The first book was excellent. The second was good. The third was mediocre. The fourth was again excellent. I'm wondering how the movie series will play out given that all of the script-worthy material has been exhausted. I can't imagine where the movies could go after the first film. The scripts must needs be an immense departure from the books from this point. The only strategy that makes sense to me would be a jump to the fourth book while filling in small details from the second and third.BLURB (TMR): When the doors of the lift crank open, the only thing Thomas can remember is his first name. But hes not alone. Hes surrounded by boys who welcome him to the Glade, an encampment at the centre of a bizarre and terrible maze. Like Thomas, the Gladers dont know why or how they came to be there, or whats happened to the world outside. All they know is that every morning when the walls slide back, they will risk everything to find out.WHAT I THOUGHT: I use to hate reading until I
Too much wasn't answered and resolved. I didn't give a flying hoot about any of the characters throughout this entire series, they were all so flat and lacking of emotion and how a real person would react to tragedy. My heart wasn't moved by any deaths, and i'm an easy one to cry and get connected to my beloved characters. It was so messy of a story and unorganized that there was just no room to feel for anybody. I'd recommend skipping this series, or just reading the first book and leaving it

I just finished listening to the 3 book Maze Runner series. Though the ratings are high for the book, I did not really enjoy the story. The book was definitely gripping, action packed and left you wanting to turn the pages, but I found the descriptions a little too grotesque and violent for my taste. I think a lot of the books success can be attributed to this 'shock' element. I also felt like the main character could be rather annoying at times, more towards the end of the second book and
Most low reviews I read expressed disappointment, let down expecting a similarity with other near-future teen-lit (Hunger Games, Divergent). I ignored those reviews. Having not read these other books and seeking a fast paced mindless weekend read I felt confident disappointment would not be my fate. I pen this rare review to save the next unsuspecting reader. This author has lazing writing habits. Something that can be forgiven if the plot is fast paced and well developed. It was not. Lazy
These books are aMAZEing. You need to read them. They are totally WICKED ;)
Why do I like The Maze Runner so much???My favorite thing about this series is one word.. TERESA. I love her! She was there in every book but.. I don't know... It should've been her not Brenda... I hate Brenda..... (Does that seem childish?) ... Anyway, the story was more interesting this way. It's one of the Best series I've EVER READ!!!!There's also something interesting about this series that if you either start reading the maze runner, the kill order or even the fever code (then one after
