Well, much thanks to Vinaya for correctly identifying a one in a million type of urban fantasy hero! This book reads like a PNR, but the author has said the series will be UF. The world created by the author is strong and while the plot is typical of many PNR stories, it is character based with richly developed characters. The start of the book was Very Dramatic. I was probably not in the right headspace when I began reading this book, but for the first few pages I was frowning and sighing and very close to rolling my eyes.
