Description As Books The Whisperer (Mila Vasquez #1)

A gripping literary thriller and smash bestseller that has taken Italy, France, Germany and the UK by storm.

Six severed arms are discovered, arranged in a mysterious circle and buried in a clearing in the woods. Five of them appear to belong to missing girls between the ages of eight and eighteen. The sixth is yet to be identified. Worse still, the girls' bodies, alive or dead, are nowhere to be found.

Lead investigators Mila Vasquez, a celebrated profiler, and Goran Gavila, an eerily prescient criminologist, dive into the case. They're confident they've got the right suspect in their sights until they discover no link between him and any of the kidnappings except the first. The evidence in the case of the second missing child points in a vastly different direction, creating more questions than it answers.

Vasquez and Gavila begin to wonder if they've been brought in to take the fall in a near-hopeless case. Is it all coincidence? Or is a copycat criminal at work? Obsessed with a case that becomes more tangled and intense as they unravel the layers of evil, Gavila and Vasquez find that their lives are increasingly in each other's hands.

THE WHISPERER, as sensational a bestseller in Europe as the Stieg Larsson novels, is that rare creation: a thought-provoking, intelligent thriller that is also utterly unputdownable.

Assessment Of Books The Whisperer (Mila Vasquez #1)
Like the whole range of other human emotions, it's just a matter of chemistry. We are all nothing but machines made of flesh. It is true to most book lovers out there that books which belong to the Thriller, Mystery and Crime genres are generally easy to predict and the reader can discover some of the "clues" that the author has left for him/her, if he/she is careful enough. But "The Whisperer" by Donato Carrisi wasn't one of these books. Fast-paced, unpredictable, thought-provoking and utterly

Loved this book - read it in one day. I'm home with a cold - so spent the day reading :)It is a mystery thriller translated from ItalianOfficer Mila Vasquez specializes in finding missing children. Having a sixth sense about the men and women who abduct children, she successfully rescues hundreds of children, yet shies away from the limelight. While harboring a secret of her own, she is called in to help Dr. Gavila and his team solve a case of a missing girl. The case in this novel begins with a

This is quite rare but I believe I only have good things to say about this book. It's one of the greatest mystery/psychological thrillers Ive read. The portrayal of the serial killer in this book is unique and disturbingly captivating. The narrative and the characters are detailed, intense, dark and utterly fascinating - believe me, if youre a fan of this genre, you wont be able to put this novel down. From now on, I'll be making sure I read everything Donato Carrisi writes.

An unusual psychological thriller with lots of twists and turns. It was worth a read. Not for everyone though

Overall this was a gripping, if a little messy, psychological thriller thats not for the faint hearted.Six severed left arms are found buried in a circle in a forest glen. Those left arms belong to children. Girls, in fact - five of them reported missing. But no sixth child has been reported missing. No bodies have been found at all.Criminologist Goran Gavila brings in Officer Mila Vasquez to work with his team. Mila's specialty is finding missing children. She is battling her own demons as the

I started this book right after I finished The Brighton Mermaid and if you read my last blog post, you must know that I loved that mystery and thought no other book would be able to amaze me that much this year. But, thankfully, The Whisperer was absolutely able to fascinate me. I did not know the author and I wasnt even aware of the existence of this book, but when my boyfriend suggested it, I had to start right away because I had a feeling this would be a perfect balance between cleverness and

My first reaction after reading this book I'm confused ! I think this is the first thriller of this kind I read, and reading another one of those would be too soon. It's gripping, and I couldn't stop reading. But reading about f*ed up people, was not enjoyable for me. I liked the twist in the end though, but I'm left wondering ...
