dnf @ 36% i don't think i'm the right target audience for this... whereas i'm not averse to romantic books and relationships in novels, the whole idea of this was... dying for love, living for love, doing everything for love... all the plot surrounded that basic idea, and that is Not My Thing at all. i'm not rating it because i don't think it was objectively bad, it was just not my cup of tea.

This is not my usual read so i am glad i approached the author for this as it was truly beautiful. I'm not the biggest fan of romance--but this book had such beautiful prose that it was easy to keep reading. A love letter in possession of the murder victim and just about the only clue the police has to catch the killer. And to top it, it's set in earlier times. I'm sort of a history buff and I didn't know much about Old Sienna or Peurto Rico in 1935, so I like that too! It's murder and mystery and romance and awesome!I love the writing style.
