Rendition During Books Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy #1)

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy; a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why; especially since I should have been the one who died...

Column Of Books Touch of Frost (Mythos Academy #1)
I loved Jennifer Estep's Black Blade series, so I've been going back to her earlier books.A Touch of Frost is the first book in the Mythos Academy series. It was first published in 2011, so it's 6 years old now.I really enjoyed this story. It's a little generic -- there are plenty of books of underdog students in magical schools -- but this was still interesting and had its own twist on the magic & the school. So if you like mythology, you should start reading this series.

Four Stars: I highly recommend this book. This is a fun beginning to a new series. What I liked:*This is a book about a young girl's self discovery. The novel opens with Gwen struggling to adapt to her new life at the Mythos academy. As the book progresses she slowly makes friends and finally discovers the key to her psychometric magic and her purpose in life. Gwen transforms from the geeky loner Gypsy girl to a strong champion who is destined to fight Chaos. *The concept of the Mythos Academy; a

I've read this ages ago. I never really processed the book, and the only reason I remembered it is because I've donated my old paperbacks to charity recently. This type of books were a dime a dozen riding into popularity on a trail of stars like Vampire Academy and the like. Touch of Frost was uninspired, filled with cliche's and tropes. It based it's school for superfreaks on Greek Mythology. The romance was your classic bad boy meets the unpopular girl, while the mean cheerleader and her

Everything that I've already said for the prequel still stands. And in this one we get a shitload of pumpkins, too.Seriously, I don't understand the pumpkins.I don't understand the fixation with the designer clothes, either. In every paragraph we are reminded that everyone in that school wears designer clothes. And that there are pumpkins. From now on, I'm going to cram pumpkins everywhere just to prove how annoying they are. Well, I suppose now it's time to say something review-like.Our heroine

What did you expect? That he'd send you flowers and write you bad poetry? That dead Nemean prowler is pretty much as close to a stuffed animal as you're ever going to get from a Spartan like Logan Quinn. The Gist: An outcast at Mythos Academy, a school for mythological warriors, psychic Gwen Frost hunts for the killer of murdered popular girl Jasmine, but discovers that Jasmine's murder isn't just a "normal" danger of Mythos. Her killer has disappeared with the Bowl of Tears, a mythological

Ugh, what's with the slut shaming? So one girl at her school is beautiful, popular, and sleeps around. That's not exactly admirable behavior, but to bring it to the front and judge her and secretly slut shame her and have other characters talk about it behind her back is not cool. Jasmine's not the only character that Gwen names as a slut either, Logan Quinn supposedly sleeps around. Again, typical teenager behavior, and bringing it up constantly doesn't make for an entirely likable character
