Interpretation As Books The Seer and the Sword (Healer and Seer #1)

Legend states that there exists a mighty sword that makes its possessor invincible to his enemies. But there is a curse on anyone who lifts the sword for conquest. King Kareed of Archeld goes after this sword anyway, winning it from the King of Bellandra. When he returns home from battle, he brings his daughter, Princess Torina, two special gifts. One is a unique crystal, in which she can view visions of the future. The other gift is the defeated king’s son Landen, who is to be her slave. Torina immediately releases Landen, who becomes a member of the King’s army and her close friend.

But trouble is lurking in the kingdom of Archeld and people are accusing Landen of plotting against the King. Torina refuses to believe he would hurt her family. Then Torina begins seeing deadly visions in her crystal. Can she save her father’s life and the future of her kingdom?

Comment On Of Books The Seer and the Sword (Healer and Seer #1)
The Seer and the Sword is one of my favorite YA fantasies. I enjoyed reading the way the two characters fell in love. It was one of those stories that could be romantic without all of the kissing. I've never been a huge fan of the love at first sight type romances that are so prevalent in books. Although they can be fun to read (and I've read my fair share), they generally seem to lack some substance. In this story we get to see and understand how and why they love each other, and it happens

King Kareed conquers Bellandra and brings his daughter, Torina, two prizes from the war: a crystal ball and the son of the conquered king, Landen. He gives Landen to Torina as a slave, but Torina frees him. Torina witnesses the murder of her father and has to run away to save her life. Landen also has to run away because he is accused of the murder. They live under false names and both become valuable to the high king, Dahmis. Dahmis unknowingly reunites Landen and Torina.I can't say any more

This was way better than i was expecting it to be. I went into this expecting a somewhat watery, hackneyed plot line with a few good twists and characters if I was lucky, but I found myself completely hooked as soon as I started reading. Although it's still definitely not the most original story ever, Hanley's writing style and vibrant characters make the story come alive. The backstory was well-developed, and the main plot and the characters' behavior were consistent with it. Almost all the

This was recommended to me a very long time ago by someone who'd read a little of my second novel and said I might like this.A very long time ago, I may have liked this. I certainly see it was likened it to my second novel. The difficulty is, all the parts that are similar are parts I cut in the epic rewriting of that second novel.Essentially, this book is your standard kid's fantasy adventure novel. It's very, very standard. Most of the characters have only one note (evil, innocent, stoic,

Torina: exiled princess. Does literally nothing while exiled other than pine and use her magical crystal sometimes. Wins the loyalty of others because of her striking beauty and grace. When she finally does something, it's only because she has to save the boy she is in love with.Landen: exiled prince. While exiled he becomes a master craftsman, a skilled soldier, leader of a powerful band of warriors, advisor to the high king and mastermind behind a plan that saves the entire continent from

I read this book a while ago, but I loved it so much I still enjoy rereading it. The main protagonist is Torina, a rebellious young girl whose father is a conquerer of land. Upon conquering the peaceful neighboring country of Bellandra, he gives his daughter two presents which both turn out to be more precious than anything: a round crystal, in which she sees the future, and the ex-prince, Landen, as a slave. Torina instantly frees Landen, who is having trouble adjusting to living under the rule

The name "Torina" is silly. Also, this book read rather like a movie, what with its chapter-endings and perspective-switches. In spite of this, The Seer and the Sword remains interesting and unique enough to be redeemed...a little. I'm still rather irked by its very un-subtle (and quite convenient) romance, as well as the cheesy character-growth near the end.The story was interesting, but probably suffered from its distractingly contrived writing. I'm pretty sure the phrase "hooked up" was used,
