Peter watched his new family drive away, certain it was the last time he’d ever see them. But sometimes plans go awry in the best way.
Now, the plan is to get back to them. But sometimes plans go awry in the worst way.
Sometimes the only plan is to believe it will be all right, even when it’s almost impossible to believe.
This is a very enjoyable and well written zombie apoc novel. It does not go crazy with zombies ripping people apart on every other page. it is about the people. It is loaded with developing characters. As a preview to the series, it was certainly good enough to encourage me to pick up more work by this author. I suggest giving it a shot.
Ha, did I just claim that Until the End of the World was too long? I know, I know. I thought this one was too short, mostly because the last part of its space is actually devoted to a chapter of another book, and so the story cut out sooner than I anticipated. Other issues: First, I wanted to knock Peter over the head when he couldn't piece together where to find water (so obvious!!), and second, I would like to mention that Nelly does not drink Pepsi. Oh, sure you can buy Pepsi in Texas, but

I haven't listened to the series but the way this story is written seems like a side story about a character from something larger. It was entertaining but I can't say I really got into it. The writing was good, the narration was great and usually this is the type of story I love, however this one didn't make me go wow! I like to feel the characters dilemna and I can't say I really felt for Peter. At times I did as he battled zombies and was at times in situations that couldn't get much worse.
I enjoyed this novella telling Peters story after sacrifice. At the end of Book 1, Until the End of the World, Peter agreed to distract the zombies so the rest of his friends (now family) could escape to continue their trip to a safe zone community further north. Peter knows he is giving up his life, but he isnt going down without a fight. Then he gets rescued by a young teen. Now he faces her gun but at least he is away from the Z mob.Nat and her family are hesitant to trust Peter but Nat saw
🎧 Audio Review 🎧I was so happy when this book started and it was Peter! I needed to know what happened to him after the way book 1 ended. He was my least favorite character in book one until the end and now he might just be my favorite. I love a characters that grows and changes throughout a book and he grew so much! Maybe it was him all the time but he finally let it out. The story of his rescue was exactly what I wanted it to be. Thank you to the author for adding this novella!Julia Whelan is
So Long, Lollipops...I have to say the last couple of chapters in Until the End of the World and this nice little novella have been some of my favorites. How can you wish someone DEAD, then have your heart drop to your stomach when it looks like you're getting your wish, but not when you wanted it or would have minded. No it had to be when there was no trace of a spoiled rich kid, but a man that would sacrifice himself for his new family. When he'd redeemed himself from past mistakes. In book one
