I Love this story line. Very good and well thought-out.I didn't care for Christine being so weepy. It seems like the author could have found a better way to express the character's feelings without making her cry all the time. She seemed like such a strong character until she started crying.Luke was a terrific character. Definitely very male in his communication skills!I found the book very engaging and enjoyable, although the author seems to write a bit stiltedly. Still a good book.

Christian "chick lit". I have had this one on one of my several "to read" lists for some time now. Finally got my hands on a copy. Things I liked: I liked the main character, Christine Bennett. She is an orphaned 19 year old, on the run from the unscrupulous partner of her late grandfather. She is a spunky, independent sort of person with a kind heart. Christine arrives in Baxter, Wisconsin on the run from her hometown of Spooner. Her grandfather has just passed away and his partner wishes to get Christine out of the way in order to inherit all of her grandfathers money. When Christine is robbed and injured she is taken to Mark Cameron the town doctor. When he hears Christines story he comes up with a plan to help her. The Cameron men are always dropping in on their grandmother to make sure all of her needs are met, Mark asks Christine to work

I first read many of Lori Wick's books as a teen. I remember enjoying the stories and the romance. I thought I'd jump back in time and check them out again (good to read at work, when I don't have a lot of time on break, but want something enjoyable I don't have to think too much about either). They've held up well. The characters are easy to like and it's nice to know that one gets to spend more time with them, being a family-centered series. The Cameron family has the stability Christine

It is a heartwarming tale that my students when I described it to said, "This sounds like a series of unfortunate events that eventually have fortunate events."I always enjoy a light read, and Lori Wick is an author that has grown a place in my heart. I can tell this is an earlier work of hers because the writing at times is a little clunky and laughable, but the heart is still there in the end. Give it a try...you may be pleasantly surprised.
